Program Notes
This piece is based on Fay Ku's work "See What You Do," housed at the New Britain Museum of American Art. Ku's piece is an interpretation of the Greek myth in which Argus is slain by Hermes and Hera "immortalized the eye of her dead watchman in peacock featheres" (new Britain Museum). Here, musically, the flutist acts as both narrator and protagonist as the myth unfolds.
